Easy Man Van provides goods in transit cover for eligible removals, subject to the conditions below.

Insurance Cover

All goods transported by Easy Man Van are covered by our goods in transit insurance for up to £10,000 per move, subject to the terms set out below.

Please note that the first £100 of any claim is not covered. If you require a higher level of protection, it is your responsibility to arrange any additional insurance before the move takes place.

Insurance protection applies only where items have been packed or prepared for transport by our team, as agreed in advance and included in the job details or inventory.

1. Our Responsibility

We are responsible for transporting your belongings from the agreed collection address to the agreed delivery address in the same condition as they were when handed over to us for the move.

Where we have packed or otherwise prepared your goods for transport, we accept responsibility for delivering them undamaged, meaning in the same condition they were in immediately before packing or preparation.

Our liability only applies where loss or damage has resulted directly from our negligence or breach of contract, and always subject to the exclusions and limitations listed in these terms.

Liability is limited to the level of cover available under our policy and to the conditions stated on this page.

2. Customer Responsibilities

To help us complete the move safely and efficiently, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate details of the items being transported and, where requested, declare their value.
  • Keep jewellery, cash, personal valuables, important papers, and similar high-value items with you at all times.
  • Ensure all necessary access arrangements, permits, permissions, and parking arrangements are in place.
  • Be present, or have an authorised representative present, at both collection and delivery.
  • Check that all items to be moved are ready and that nothing is removed in error or left behind unintentionally.
  • Secure and prepare electrical and electronic equipment before transport.
  • Ensure fridges and freezers are empty and fully defrosted before loading.
  • Provide the correct collection and delivery addresses.
  • Remain contactable by phone throughout the move if you are not travelling with the driver.

We are not responsible for delays, extra charges, loss, or damage arising from a failure to meet these responsibilities.

3. Goods We Cannot Transport

Unless confirmed in writing in advance, the following items must not be included in the move:

  • Illegal, prohibited, stolen, hazardous, flammable, explosive, or otherwise dangerous goods.
  • Firearms, ammunition, gas bottles, paints, aerosols, chemicals, and similar restricted items.
  • Cash, jewellery, watches, precious metals, precious stones, deeds, securities, stamps, and collectibles.
  • Perishable goods or items that require temperature-controlled transport.
  • Animals, birds, reptiles, fish, or any live creatures.
  • Any items requiring special licences, permits, or regulatory approval for transport.

If any such goods are included without prior written agreement, Easy Man Van accepts no liability for any loss, damage, delay, seizure, or related issue.

4. Exclusions of Liability

We will not be liable for loss or damage caused by circumstances outside our control or by situations not arising from our negligence or breach of contract. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Fire, flood, storm, severe weather, or other events beyond our reasonable control.
  • War, invasion, terrorism, civil unrest, strikes, or similar disruptions.
  • Radiation, contamination, cyber incidents, or chemical or biological events.
  • Normal wear and tear, gradual deterioration, leakage, evaporation, or natural instability of items.
  • Damage caused by pests, moths, mildew, rust, damp, or environmental conditions.
  • Items packed by the customer or by a third party rather than by our team.
  • Goods left inside wardrobes, drawers, appliances, cartons, boxes, or containers not packed and unpacked by us.
  • China, glassware, fragile goods, or delicate items unless professionally packed by us or our subcontractors.
  • Mechanical, electronic, or electrical malfunction unless caused by clear external damage during transit.
  • Pre-existing defects, inherent weaknesses, or faults already present in the item.
  • Indirect or consequential loss of any kind, including loss of profit, business interruption, or emotional distress.

5. Damage to Property

If damage is caused to your property directly due to our negligence or breach of contract, we will pay either:

  • the reasonable cost of repair, or
  • compensation up to a maximum of £100 per property.

We are not liable for damage where goods have been packed, unpacked, or handled by you or by others not acting on our behalf.

6. Claims Procedure

Any loss, damage, or issue must be reported immediately at the time it occurs or at the latest before our team leaves the site.

Claims made after the move has been completed, payment has been made, and the Easy Man Van team has left the premises may not be accepted.

7. Final Notes

  • Our liability ends once delivery has been completed.
  • No individual employee shall be personally liable for any loss, delay, damage, or error arising from the move.
  • If you require cover beyond the limits stated above, it is your responsibility to arrange additional insurance before the move.

Please note: These terms are provided for general customer information and should be read together with your quote, booking confirmation, and any additional service terms agreed before the move.
